Creative Studio Experience

The Creative Studio Experience is your own in-house creative agency, where you can join with your fellow student writers, animators, filmmakers, artists, and more to build personal projects, portfolio pieces, and tackle class assignments.

Your Career in Creative Starts Here

The Creative Studio Experience builds a student community for professional collaboration. You’ll be part of a team, working with other creatives on real projects.

Art and media are made to be shared. That’s why we integrated the Creative Studio Experience into our academic curriculum, to bring together different minds, designs, talents, and techniques on creative projects to build a shared understanding of our crafts. It’s the same kind of experience they’ll find on real projects, in real studios, working for real clients.

YOUR IN-HOUSE CREATIVE TEAM

The Creative Studio Experience serves as an in-house agency, able to serve all Champlain College majors. Got a novel you want to have illustrated? The Creative Studio’s got you. How about a website you want prototyped for your budding business? They can do that, too. Creative Studio faculty are always looking for new ways to combine our creative talents and find solutions that work.

Master Your Medium

While the Creative Studio Experience encompasses majors including Animation, Creative Media, Filmmaking, Graphic Design & Visual Communication, and Writing & Publishing, all majors are welcome to engage with the Creative Studio and benefit from collaborative projects. From data visualization projects to movie posters and logo designs, the Creative Studio Experience supports it all.

Find Your Crew

Apply your classwork to real work. When you collaborate on projects with peers from other disciplines, you expand your network and knowledgebase. You might decide to start a podcast about a mutual passion or illustrate a children’s book. The people you meet here are all potential partners to help you create the next big thing.

Expand Your Network

The Creative Studio Experience facilitates connections with faculty who will help guide your interests and direct your talents—even if they don’t teach in your major! They’ll introduce you to like-minded students and recommend you for projects they’re working on. And because our faculty are active in their fields, they know about opportunities that you might not otherwise encounter in the classroom alone.

Build a Portfolio You’re Proud of

Experience is the most important part of the Creative Studio Experience, and it’s what Champlain College is all about. Whether that’s your name rolling in the credits or your personal touch on an interactive installation, it’s professional experience all the same. This is where you bridge your career goals with classroom learning to produce portfolio-worthy work.

It’s really important that students know the work they create matters, not just to them and their artistic expression, but that they’re also creating content that communicates a message to the outside world.
