Biography
Get ready to meet the vibrant and dynamic Lisa Mazzariello, who became a proud member of the Champlain Community back in October 2005. With an impressive track record, she currently rocks the role of Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs, Diversity, and Inclusion. Over the course of her career, she also assumed various roles in Student Activities and Residential Life. Her educational background includes a Master’s of Science in Business Administration and Planning from St. Michael’s College, as well as a Bachelor’s of Sciences in Psychology from Castleton State College. Notably, she is an alumna of Champlain College, where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Communications and Public Relations. To this day, her mom still says that “Champlain was the best thing for her daughter, after all it’s where Lisa’s academic and social life began to thrive.” You can still experience this when she gets together with her many alumni friends that she is still in contact with after all these years.
Passionate about student development, Lisa finds great joy in witnessing the transformative “ah-ha” moments in students’ growth. Furthermore, she actively advocates for women’s rights and is an engaged member of the LGBTQ community. Lisa has channeled her passion for education and infused it into her favorite courses to teach; Leadership Seminar, Diversity and Inclusion 101, and Champ 101.
She would also say that she has the honor of working with an amazing team of student affairs professionals. Amongst them they have many different areas of focus. In her spare time, Lisa’s the ultimate outdoor adventurer, embracing Vermont’s breathtaking landscapes like a true explorer. She’s out there kayaking, hiking, and embracing nature—it’s like she’s on a lifelong adventure quest!
And wait for it—the best part! Her partner-in-crime is the adorable golden retriever, Juniper. They’re an inseparable duo, ruling the outdoors and bringing smiles wherever they go.
