Application Process
Our office’s mission is to help our students fulfill their study abroad dreams. If you’re facing challenges in any step of the study abroad process, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Even if you believe you may not be eligible for our programs or believe you cannot study abroad for any reason, please come and talk to us! We will work with you through whatever your situation may be. We want you to go abroad and will do everything we can to help you get wherever you wish to go.
You can set up a meeting with our study abroad coordinators, or you can stop by our office at Skiff 200 during office hours. Here are contact information and appointment links for our coordinators. If you don’t know where you want to go, that’s okay – come see either one of us, or email our office!
Eligibility
Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students before beginning the semester abroad or summer program. Students need to be in good academic standing and have a minimum GPA of 2.75 (or 3.0 for 3rd Party and Exchange Programs) and a record of strong participation as a college and community citizen.
Every major has the ability to study abroad at Champlain. However, depending on your major, spring or fall semester will align better with your curriculum.
Deciding Where to Go
Before you begin the application process, you need to decide where you want to go abroad! Check out our available study abroad options, or set up a meeting with one of our study abroad coordinators and they can help you through the decision process.

This will include requirements such as two faculty references, filling out a signature verification form in our office, meeting with one of our study abroad coordinators, and learning content. Get step-by-step instructions.
Please note that the Champlain Abroad office operates on a rolling admission basis. We encourage students to submit their application sooner rather than later.
