Find Your People
Female-identifying, trans, and gender-nonconforming students are sometimes a minority in their fields of study, classes, and/or residence halls. The same can often be said for people who identify as LGBTQ+. The Women’s & Gender Center provides a space for these populations to come together, be themselves, and talk freely with one another.
We offer educational programming that supports students’ success at Champlain College and beyond. You’ll often find WGC staff and student workers hanging out in the space, ready to engage and show you around! We’re also available to help answer questions and provide resources in a safe and supportive environment.
What to Expect Inside the Space
The space is filled with comfy couches and chairs, perfect for hanging out or getting some work done in good company. Picture: posters and flags portraying messages of LGBTQ+ Pride, Rosie the Riveter, Trans Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter, and more. Puzzles, stuffies, snacks, books and educational pamphlets, stickers, and beyond contribute to making the space feel welcoming and relaxing.
Host a meeting or event at the WGC!
Our space is truly a community space. Contact us to book the WGC for an upcoming event or meeting. Or, feel free to stop by the Center! We host events and meetings after hours, too.
