Starting a New Club
Interested in starting a new club at Champlain?
The Office of Student Engagement and the Student Government Association are here to help guide you!
First, we encourage you to check out our pre-existing list of clubs and activities. Is there an existing club you could join or collaborate with?
If you’re looking to start something completely new, here’s what to do:
Step 1: Find People to Join You
You will need a designated Club Head and a list of at least 9 other students who are interested in joining your club. You must also identify a Champlain College employee to be your club advisor.
Step 2: Fill Out The Club Registration Form
Both new and pre-existing clubs need to fill out our Club Registration Form in order to be recognized by the College as an official club, and for the opportunity to receiving funding for your club from the Student Government Association.
New Clubs: Submit this form as soon as you are ready!
Returning Clubs: You must submit this form before the start of the fall semester.
Please note: The information you include in your submission will be used as the official content on the Champlain College website to promote your club. Please be intentional about the language and photo(s) you include.
Step 3: Be on the Lookout for Communication From Us
Once you submit the Club Registration Form, you will hear from the Office of Student Engagement regarding the status of your club/organization. Once approved, the SGA Director of Clubs will reach out with the final steps in the approval process and about seeking funding. You will be asked to fill out a budget proposal spreadsheet.
