An HSA is an individual account with our vendor HealthEquity which has money added pre-tax to spend on eligible expenses towards health, dental, and/or vision expenses. The HSA is only available to employees who have elected the Silver or Bronze HDHP medical plan. You own the account and you control how money is spent, and unused funds rollover from year to year. Employee contributions can be made with pre-tax dollars via payroll deduction; the College’s contributions will be made to your account on a bi-weekly basis.
The College’s FSA with Navia Benefits allows you to set aside money from your paycheck before income taxes are withheld. There are multiple types of FSAs you may participate in which allow you to set aside funds for medical, dental, vision and/or dependent care expenses (such as day care).
Champlain College offers two dental plans through Northeast Delta Dental. There are differences in coverage although both include preventative, restorative, and orthodontic services.

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers free, confidential, and comprehensive solutions for today’s personal and work challenges.
The College offers Life, Accident, Critical Illness, Short & Long Term Disability Insurances through Unum. The documents below outline the coverage available to eligible employees.
Term life insurance and compensation for accidental loss of life or limb is available to eligible faculty and staff. Coverage is available for the employee at 2 times base salary to a maximum of $700,000 benefit.
Short and long-term disability benefits are provided by the College as an income replacement benefit that pay a percentage of pre-disability earnings on a weekly basis when employees are out of work on a disability claim.
GMHEC’s Leave of Absence Specialist would help you through the claim process if that time comes.
