Health Plan Information & Resources

Cigna is our health insurance provider with in and out-of-network coverage options as well as prescription coverage.

Depending on your enrollment choices, you may also have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pair with your health insurance.

For current employees already enrolled, please click here to view details of the Open Access Plan (OAP).

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Resources

The College’s FSA with Navia Benefits allows you to set aside money from your paycheck before income taxes are withheld. There are multiple types of FSAs you may participate in which allow you to set aside funds for medical, dental, vision and/or dependent care expenses (such as day care).

  • Short and long-term disability benefits are provided by the College as an income replacement benefit that pay a percentage of pre-disability earnings on a weekly basis when employees are out of work on a disability claim.

    • There are many reasons a person may use these benefits including maternity leave, when there is recovery time following a procedure, if you need to be out of work for a serious illness or injury, and more.
    • If a claim is approved, benefits begin after you have been unable to work for 10 consecutive calendar days and may continue to a maximum of 26 weeks.
    • The short term disability plan pays a benefit of 66-2/3% salary replacement for those hired after 7/1/09, and 100% salary replacement for those hired before 7/1/09 for up to 26 weeks if Unum approves the claim.
    • Long term disability benefits begin after 26 weeks (180 days) if a person is medically required to continue to be out of work and Unum approves.
    • The long term disability plan pays a benefit of 66-2/3% of basic salary up to $5,000 per month, less any other benefits one may be qualified to receive.

GMHEC’s Leave of Absence Specialist would help you through the claim process if that time comes.
