ChampFunder is a powerful tool for funding initiatives at Champlain College. Through crowdsourced giving you can partner with us on a number of innovative projects led by students, faculty, and staff. Together, we can provide an innovative learning environment and support community involvement as a fundamental foundation of our mission. So find a project that inspires you, make your gift, and share the page!

View the ProjectPlease fill out the application form. Your application will be reviewed, and if your project is selected for ChampFunder, you will work with Shaylea Scribner to create you project campaign.
All current Champlain students, faculty and staff are eligible to apply for ChampFunder funding.
Student organizations that are eligible for funding through the SGA are eligible to apply to ChampFunder
To be considered, projects must be initiated, designed, and carried out by students, faculty and/or staff. Projects will be assessed on the individual or team’s organization and commitment, the effectiveness of their plan, and alignment with Champlain College’s mission and strategic initiatives.
ChampFunder applications are considered on a rolling basis. We recommend submitting your proposal several weeks before you need funding as the number of projects that can be displayed at any time is limited and once your project is on the site, it can take time for it to be fully funded.
Yes. All photos should be submitted in a .jpeg or .png format. The Cover Photo should be a minimum of 1200px wide so it’s optimized for sharing. Videos must be a YouTube video in order to be embedded into the campaign.
You and your team are responsible for making sure the campaign is successful. We build your campaign for you and give you the tools you need to fundraise, but the rest is up to you.
Each project will be displayed for up to six months. Once projects are funded, they will be archived on the site, so donors can see the outcome of their gifts and be inspired to continue supporting Champlain.
The success of a crowdfunding campaign is almost always linked to the number of people asking for support of your project. The average campaign team member typically reaches 20 potential donors and raises around $500. So, a 10 person team can expect to raise around $5,000 whereas a 3 person team can expect to raise around $1,500.
You can choose to end your campaign early or continue for your planned campaign duration. There is no downside to surpassing your campaign goal. We can also increase the campaign goal at anytime if you are getting an extraordinary response.
You may apply the additional funds to your project budget or donate the surplus to the Champlain Fund in the name of your project or project team. It is important on your campaign that you indicate exactly how surplus funds will be used so it is clear to donors to your campaign.
You will receive whatever funding was earned for the campaign.
Any student project should have a faculty or staff “sponsor.” This sponsor would be responsible for receiving the funds raised and dispersing the funds in accordance with donor expectations. In other words, we need a Champlain employee who will verify that the promises made during the campaign are being honored.
No, it does not. We encourage you to give to the Champlain fund in addition to a ChampFunder campaign.
Project teams will be adding content regularly to this site or to their project campaigns. You can check back any time for updates on any project.
Please wait a few additional minutes before refreshing your internet browser. Based on how busy the website or project page is, it may take a few minues for your gift to appear on each project page and in the fundraising totals on the hub.
100% of your donation will go to the project and specifically used according to the project description.
