The Gilman Grant is a federal grant given to those who are planning on studying abroad and are eligible for a Pell Grant (not sure you have a Pell grant? Check your Self-Service account under Financial Aid).
The awarded amount is between $3,000 and $5,000. In order to help you put your best foot forward in this application cycle, we are hosting several Gilman Workshops before the deadline. The dates are:
- Jan. 28 at 11:30am in CCM 246
- Feb. 6 at 1:00pm in CCM 212
- Feb. 12 at 3:00pm in CCM 212
- Feb. 24 at 10:00am in CCM 212
You are also encouraged to meet one-on-one with one of our Writing Center Tutors to polish your essays. Their drop in hours are Sunday through Thursday 4pm-8pm, MIC 208.
The deadline for this Gilman cycle is Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:59pm. If you are interested in studying abroad in the summer, Fall ’25 or Spring ’26 semester, we encourage you to apply for this upcoming cycle. If you don’t receive the scholarship in this cycle and you are going abroad in the Spring ’26 semester, you can apply again in October for the next cycle.
