Gameplay Programming
The professors in the program are absolutely fantastic. I always feel that I can reach out to them and they’re happy to help. Each professor is an amazing mentor and it’s been incredible to make those connections and establish those relationships.
Team projects in the game studio and production are my favorites. It’s so valuable to work in a team and find out what the dynamic is and where you fit in. Then at the end of the project, you have a game that you helped to make- and that’s a really cool feeling. I still remember how I felt after I made my first game in production, it’s amazing!
Champlain is fantastic at giving students a look into what the professional industry is like. I’ve learned so much about the game development industry, but I’ve also gotten so much experience from places like Career Collaborative with writing resumes, cover letters, finding internships, etc. They’ve helped me feel comfortable with the process and it’s made me feel much more confident for after I graduate.
