Over the next four years, you’ll face challenges. Life after college will be tough at times, too. But you are not alone. Champlain has thought long and hard about helping you live well through it all.
Think of the New Student Experience as your jumpstart to all things Champlain. It’s all of the firsts you’ll experience as, well, a new student. From attending Admitted Students Weekend, to the courses you’ll take in our Core Curriculum, and the life skills you’ll learn in the InSight Program—these systems are put in place to lay the foundation of your college success.

Champlain College has a state of the art Fitness Center located in the IDX Student Life Center. We pride ourselves in keeping our Fitness Center clean, current and fun, and we welcome the beginner, intermediate and advanced-level individual.
Are team sports your thing? We have a wide range of intramural sports and clubs from dance to dodgeball. Whatever your athletic interests are, you’ll have no trouble finding people to team up with, have fun, and stay fit.
Creating an environment where you feel safe is our highest priority. Public safety officers patrol campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure security for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. You’ll also find emergency call boxes all around campus, which connect you directly to rapid response teams if ever needed.
The highly trained professionals in our Counseling Center are here to support you. We offer a variety of services including individual and group counseling, outreach and education, consultations, and 20-minute “Let’s Talk” appointments.
Here, community is built by uplifting and empowering every student. Our affinity and social groups provide supportive environments to come together to reflect on experiences, get support and resources, and have meaningful conversations.

Our SMART Space (Study Mentors and Resource Tutors) is a one-stop-shop for academic support. Other resources include built-in programming, dedicated Centers of Experience, our Writing Center, and more.
In our library, you’ll find everything from that book you’re searching for to 3D printing and media streaming services. Our Miller Information Commons is a hub of information and innovation where you’ll find the tools, resources, and support you need to accomplish anything you’re working on.

Our campus is our community and maintaining safety and security for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors is our highest priority.
At Champlain, the overall health of our students is always a top priority. We offer a variety of counseling services and resources at our Skiff Hall location on campus. All degree-seeking students are eligible for counseling services free of charge.
