Ski Passes
The East's best skiing and riding resorts are just around the corner. Between 35 minutes and an hour's drive from campus, you'll find Sugarbush, Stowe Mountain Resort, Bolton Valley Resort and Smuggler's Notch.
Sugarbush Pass: Hit the Slopes For Less
Champlain students ski and ride at Sugarbush for just $75 per year! Champlain wants to help you experience the many joys of living in Vermont—naturally, that includes skiing and snowboarding. With the Sugarbush Pass, you’ll hit the slopes after only a 45-minute drive from campus.
The Sugarbush ski resort is divided into two mountain areas. The Champlain College Student pass grants access to Mt. Ellen, one of the few mountains in Vermont to exceed 4,000 feet. Mt. Ellen is primarily made up of intermediate trails, but it does range from a beginner skill level all the way up to three expert level double-diamond runs. Students also have the option to upgrade to the $200 all-access pass that includes Lincoln Peak as well as Mt. Ellen. Visit the Sugarbush website to learn more about the mountain!
How to Purchase
A couple times throughout the winter, Sugarbush Ski Resort tables in the IDX Student Life Center outside the cafeteria to sell passes on the spot, and these times and dates will be advertised in the Stall Street Journal, on The View Events, and on posters around campus.
Students can also contact Sugarbush directly by calling 1-800-53SUGAR.
Getting to the Hill
Student Engagement offers bus transportation to Mt. Ellen one day each weekend throughout the winter. Students can sign up for a spot on the bus by visiting the HUB desk in the IDX Student Life Center.
Student Engagement offers additional trips to select mountains in the region. These trips come with transportation and a deep discount on lift tickets.
