Types of Aid
Merit-Based Scholarships
Champlain College recognizes students with notable academic achievements and extracurricular accomplishments by awarding merit-based scholarships. This aid does not have to be repaid. Awarded regardless of financial need, you are automatically considered with your application to the College.
Need-Based Aid
A combination of grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study student employment options comprise the need-based options at Champlain College. You must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered.
Other Aid
Other types of aid are generally based on a variety of requirements. Learn more about your eligibility on the following pages.

Steps to be Considered for Aid
Champlain College uses both the CSS Profile Lite application and FAFSA to determine financial aid packages, allowing us to provide you with a prompt merit scholarship award and a preliminary estimate of Federal Financial Aid until your FAFSA information is sent to us.
