Champlain College Online (CCO) recently celebrated 30 years of innovative, adaptable, and accessible online education. A pioneer in the industry, CCO began its journey in the early 1990s and continues to expand its legacy.

Students completing their online education with CCO can learn from anywhere in the world and on their own schedule. Today, we offer more than 80 career-focused programs including associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and certificate options.

A recent blog post from CCO takes us through its 30-year legacy, from name changes to new degree programs, and career-relevant curriculum updates as technology and the internet became a bigger part of our every day lives.

Champlain College On-Line, as it was called back then, is featured in the September, 1999 edition of Vermont’s Seven Days newspaper.

“While the competition for online students grew, we prioritized delivering quality education, adapting our programs to align with the ever-evolving business landscape,” the blog post says. “As our website noted, ‘Finding a convenient online program can be a snap. But finding a really good program—one that provides individual attention and high-quality instruction—is not so easy.’

CCO has always had an eye on the future, and continues to look for ways to adapt to the evolving needs of today’s students. From military student support, to business partnerships, and new programs in high-demand industries like cybersecurity, information technology, marketing, and healthcare, we are excited for the next 30 years and beyond.
