Vermont PBS’ “Made Here” series recently featured documentaries produced by Champlain College Class of 2021 Broadcast Media Production graduates. The films were created in their senior capstone course.

Each year, Broadcast Media Production students put their production, directing, and editing skills to the test as they create their senior capstone documentaries. The experience is just one example of the many hands-on learning opportunities students take part in during their time in Champlain’s Upside-Down Curriculum.

The documentaries include:

  • Canna-Business: Explores cannabis entrepreneurs in Vermont.
By Arlo Filmore, Ben Sheed, and Max Nakashima.
  • Soul Survivor: Meet the musical group A2VT, based in Winooski, Vermont.
By Ben Martin and Jacob Fontneau.
  • Keeping the Farm Alive: Dives into challenges facing Vermont’s dairy farms.
By Luke Marcheski, Holly Studwell, and Sam Boyer.
  • Dog Mountain: Shows the impact of Dog Mountain on dogs and their owners.
By Derek Mann and Skylar Wolf.
  • Pictures in a Pandemic: Follows seniors completing final films in a pandemic.
    By Kate Heppner.
