Other Study Abroad Options
From short-term, faculty-led trips to long-term, exchange opportunities, there are many ways to study abroad. Choose from a variety of countries, programs, and academic content to meet your goals.
Faculty-led trips are a great way to have an international experience while only leaving the country for a short period of time.
Champlain offers faculty-led courses that typically take place during a break with the first half of the class happening pre-travel and then more class happening after travel to allow for discussion and synthesis. You’ll participate in field trips, workshops, cultural immersions, and hands-on projects that complement the course curriculum.
Faculty-led courses offer an exceptional opportunity to dive deeply into specific topics while experiencing firsthand the cultural and social aspects of the host country.
International internships provide an invaluable opportunity for you to enhance your professional skills and personal development while experiencing the culture and work practices of a different country. Champlain Abroad takes the lead in providing a variety of professional development opportunities during your semester abroad. These include internships, conferences, company visits, and networking events with industry experts.
Internships can be arranged as part of an approved study abroad program or as a “stand-alone” opportunity, allowing you to gain real-world experience without having to enroll in courses at the host institution.
Champlain has a partnership with five international schools. Our exchange programs offer you, as a Burlington student, the opportunity to live and study at partner institutions in New Zealand, Scotland, the Bahamas, or the Netherlands. These exchange partnerships also enrich the Burlington campus by hosting students from international partner schools for a semester or full academic year.
The exchange experience also contributes to your personal and academic growth by allowing you to access specialized courses, explore different academic approaches, and engage with new perspectives.
With a variety of exciting locations, program types, and academic content to suit your unique interests and career goals, third-party study abroad programs offer a wide range of options. The Champlain Abroad Office will work closely with you to find the perfect fit and guide you through the steps to study abroad in your desired location. These programs offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in different cultures, languages, and educational systems, fostering personal growth and global awareness.
